Legislation is needed to control pollution and conserve biodiversity in Bangladesh. It is the need to start planting trees across the country to maintain the balance of the environment. We all should work tirelessly to make Bangladesh a developed and prosperous country by protecting the environment and facing the impact of climate change. For this purpose, it is important to implement various effective programs to control air pollution, water pollution and noise pollution. Tree plantation is only program to minimize ever pollution.
Legal measures need to be taken to control plastic pollution, hill and dune cutting and filling of ponds and water bodies. Plantation of trees is being done on a large scale across the country to protect the natural balance and biodiversity. National Adaptation Plan and Mujib Climate Prosperity Plan should be implemented to combat the adverse effects of climate change.
Happily, DAFF- Bangladesh and Pathashishu Kalyan Trust jointly planted more than 50000 (Fifty Thousand) of Neem tree across the country. Environment Protection Rules 2023 and Air Pollution Control Rules 2022 have been issued as part of the legislation and regulations which should be binding on all.
Also Bangladesh Environment Court Act, 2010; And initiatives should be taken to further amend the Medical Waste (Management and Processing) Rules, 2008. Work should be done to enact modern forest laws.
Also, ratification of various international conventions on environmental protection is required. If all the benefactors of DAFF- BANGLADESH and Pathashishu Kalan Trust work together to protect the country's biodiversity, control environmental pollution and deal with the adverse effects of climate change, this country will be saved from the adverse effects of climate. We owe to our founder Chairman Sadequl Islam and his wife Nur Banu as they inspired us to go ahead with the program of tree plantation..
